Cairns + Bridging Cultures Orientation

From scuba diving to chilling with koalas, ISA’s exclusive Orientation Excursion is one exciting and educational introduction to the land down under. Taking place in the northern city of Cairns, famous for its tropical atmosphere and access to the Great Barrier Reef, the Australia Orientation is designed to set you up for a successful experience abroad by acquainting you with the local culture, allowing time to get to know your soon-to-be-friends and having a memorable journey in the process. Our in-country staff will be there to personally guide you through orientation sessions and all the unique activities – including snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and exploring the ancient Daintree Rainforest – planned for the week, all you have to do is show up ready for an adventure!

North Stradbroke Island

Enjoy a getaway to "Straddie," the world's second largest sand island, and a favorite destination among locals. Soak up the sub-tropical climate and experience one of many unique recreational, historical, and cultural activities that the island provides, including sand-boarding, kayaking, and learning about the distinctive culture of the Quandamooka people. Most importantly, savor the beauty and slow-paced lifestyle of this local gem.

Cultural Activities in Gold Coast

The ISA on-site team encourages you to explore the city and culture of the Gold Coast. The team facilitates this by offering a robust calendar of events that showcases what makes the Gold Coast special.

These activities vary each term, and previous offerings have included Burleigh Heights Beach day, Tallebudgera Creek River Walk, a local rugby game, Miami Marketta, and a Hinterlands Day trip.
