It focuses particularly on political and cultural themes in the analysis of these topics. It ends on the eve of World War One when new ideas such as psychology, relativity, and nihilism threatened to undermine all that had been consolidated in the preceding century. This unit will appeal especially to students taking MHIS121 and MHIS321.
