OverviewIntroduces students to Asian Studies by charting its rise as an interdisciplinary field of study and setting out to answer the foundation question: 'What is Asia?' Thematic modules examine East Asian, South Asian and Southeast Asian societies, cultures, ways of thinking, recent and current transformations and the influence of geography. Develops a knowledge and appreciation of the region's diversity and provides a range of conceptual approaches to contemporary Asia.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
