    This course builds upon the foundations put into place in ECON 110. Economic problems facing society are studied more closely: long-run growth, structural unemployment, effects of technology, government budget deficits, national debt, inflation, deflation, trade deficits, exchange rate fluctuations.

    The course consists of class lectures and outside reading assignments. Students will be expected to do class presentations on various assignments. Will be covered in class :
    - Short Run Fluctuations & Spending Balance
    - Financial Markets & Aggregate Demand
    - Economic Fluctuations Model
    - Foreign Trade and Exchange Rate
    - Spending , Taxes and Government Budget Deficit
    - Monetary System
    - Long-run Economic Growth
    - Technology and Economic Growth
    - Growth and the World Economy

    The final grade will be made up of homework assignments and class participation 20%, a mid-term examination 30% and the final examination 50%.
