Salamanca is known for being one of the top locations in the world to learn the Spanish language. It is home to the oldest university in Spain and is ISA’s first program site, where our first group of students studied abroad in 1987. As a student here, you will benefit from living in a gorgeous medieval city small enough to navigate by foot, allowing you to gain an intimate understanding of the local landscape and culture. As you explore you'll find yourself amidst the glowing sandstone buildings that have earned Salamanca the nickname “La Ciudad Dorada” (The Golden City).

What Our Students are Saying
"Choosing ISA Salamanca was definitely the right choice for me. I loved studying abroad in Salamanca; ISA was honestly one of the most organized programs, and the staff there were always there for me."
Abbie S.Luther College
"Getting prepared for my first study abroad trip was extremely stressful since there are so many things to take care of. That said, I'm very appreciative to have had the Student Portal and ISA website materials to read. Also, the thing that makes all the difference is the customer service aspect, and ISA has excellent people willing to answer my questions and help me when I need them."
Amanda H.University of Minnesota, Morris
"This intensive program gave me the flexibility I needed to finally go out and practice speaking Spanish with native speakers, all while being exposed to the fascinating culture and cuisine as I lived for two weeks as a local. Without ISA, I would have never been able to realize this dream. Studying abroad will certainly allow me future career opportunities down the road."
James P.Stony Brook University
"ISA allowed me to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. I was so glad that I planned my trip through ISA because I had all of the information I needed and they provide things that you wouldn't necessarily have access to if you just studied abroad at a foreign university on your own."
Kendall T.University of California - Irvine
"ISA Salamanca was a program that surpassed all of my expectations, not only with my homestay (I LOVED my homestay) and class, but with the program as a whole. This city blew me away and truly felt like home after my 8 week stay. This will not be my last time in Salamanca and definitely not my last time with my new ISA and Salamanca family."
Scott V.Seattle University
"Studying abroad with ISA in Salamanca gave me the opportunity to improve my Spanish skills, build friendships, learn & love the culture, and grow an appreciation for the world around me. I'm so grateful for my time spent in Salamanca and the ISA team that made it all possible."
Stephanie S.University of Kentucky
