Melbourne Study Abroad
Renowned as the sporting capital of Australia, Melbourne is a city of athletes and artists alike - offering up surprisingly European vibes and a distinctly Australian attitude. Take a chance and brave the city’s temperamental weather to stroll the iconic cobblestone streets, back-alley cafes, and artistic neighborhoods of the inner suburbs, or pay a visit to one of Melbourne’s world-class museums. Whether you’re taking in the views of Port Phillip Bay, catching a 'footy' game, or sampling some of Melbourne’s diverse cuisine, you are sure to feel the excitement and get inspired by your semester down under in Melbourne.

What Our Students are Saying
"Being abroad has helped me become more independent and confident in myself. Studying abroad is a life changing decision, for you will gain a whole new perspective of the world and where you live. My advice to you is to make sure you go out to places and explore, do not stay inside all day. Studying abroad may seem expensive but it is an opportunity that is once in a lifetime... Don't be afraid to try new things and have an open mind. If you expect things to be different and accept it before you depart it will make your life abroad 10 times easier. Say yes to adventure and study abroad, for you will receive a chance to gain independence, confidence, friends, and to experience things that are unavailable to you in your home country."

"Melbourne takes some getting used to. For the first couple weeks, you will feel totally lost and the public transportation system will be tricky. But after that, everything starts making sense, and it actually gets a lot smaller than you think it is. It ended up feeling like home to me, and I will definitely be coming back here after I graduate. Don't waste time, either. Jump right into everything and take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. Go on road trips, travel all over, and be open minded about things because it's a totally different way of life in Melbourne. Learn to appreciate the lane ways, street performers, and the locals' serious obsession with coffee! This city is amazing and I guarantee you will fall in love with it!"

"Just an incredible experience, hard to put into words without writing a 20,000 page paper."
David J.University of Massachusetts, Amherst
"There are no words for how perfect my experience was! I fell in love with the Australian lifestyle and made a ton of amazing friends, who I still keep in touch with to this day. La Trobe was a perfect Uni to study abroad for many reasons. It was mostly all Australians, so I really got to learn about their culture and get the full "Aussie experience", it's a huge campus and everything you need is right there including stores, a hair salon, restaurants, bars, etc. If I had the choice I'd go back today!"
Olivia W.Long Island University C.W. Post Campus
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore [Melbourne] Victoria and I probably wouldn't have been able to go the places we did if not for ISA."
