  • Overview

    Macroeconomics addresses economic issues at an aggregate level. Emphasis is placed on the measurement of living standards, economic growth, inflation and unemployment. Topics covered include the causes and consequences of fluctuations in economic activity, the role of monetary and fiscal policy and the effects of globalisation.

    Learning Outcomes:

    On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:
    -Discuss which countries have delivered a good standard of living to their citizens and why some have failed to do so
    -Demonstrate knowledge of how macroeconomics activity is commonly measured, and the limitations of the measures that are used
    -Access, graph, manipulate and analysis macroeconomic information
    -Compare and contrast macroeconomics policies, both historical and current
