  • Overview

    The module traces the evolution and scope of musicology by means of an exploration of the discipline and its application to the study and practice of the subject. This exploration will consider the emergence of areas such as gender studies, the canon and reception history within musicology. The module also contains an examination of the development of music historiography and different approaches to the study of music history.
