Overview
The aim of the course is to understand, through history, Italian society and the Italian way of life. There will be a focus on the city of Milan. The course deals with the history of Italian society from the Fascist dictatorship (1922) to the present. After World War II, Italy was a poor country, mainly agricultural, that had been under Mussolini’s dictatorship for 20 years. Today Italy is a rich country with many problems (economic crisis, poor Southern Italy, illegal immigration, criminality etc). How did Italy change in the 20th Century?
