Overview
Students will learn: To acquire an in-depth understanding of Scots child law; To acquire an in-depthunderstanding of the law in this area in its social and conceptual context; To develop the ability to analyse thelaw from the perspective of children?s rights and to assess it in terms of whose rights and being prioritised andwhy; To acquire an understanding of how disputes involving children are resolved by the courts and by othermeans (ADR); To become familiar with how some of these issues are approached in other jurisdictions and why;To undertake critical analysis of this area of Scots law; To understand the options for reform of this area of Scotslaw in the light of the above.
