Overview
The module aims to provide students with knowledge of core legal principles; laws and regulations; and case-law affecting the practice of journalism and the media; and to sensitise intending journalist to legal issues potentially affecting their work. It will include topics affecting journalism and the media such as: courts and the media, pre-trial and in-trial publicity, newsgathering issues, access to information, privacy, defamation, and intellectual property.
