    Project management is key to much human activity. This course introduces the main methods for selecting the best projects, their planning and control to help ensure successful completion on time and within budget. The
    techniques are illustrated with examples from a variety of industries. The course covers Innovation and critical
    appraisal of projects; Financial evaluation, including discounted cash flow and capital rationing; Decision analysis in an uncertain world; The project life cycle; Network analysis in project planning; The problem of limited resources;
    Managing risk; Practical use of computer software in project management; Case studies. (Assessment: 50%
    examination, 50% coursework)
