Overview
This module examines various aspects of life in Victorian cities using computer methods of analysis. Topicscovered include: health and housing issues; child labour and the expansion of state education; immigrationand emigration; poverty; the social position of women; and the Victorian census. The module aims to examinethe social history of Victorian industrial cities, and to deepen historical skills further through application ofcomputer methods.
