Contemporary Spain: Geography, Society and Institutions (taught in Spanish)

Course description
The main objective of this course is to offer, in the first place, an overview of the physical environment and the natural reality of Spain, to then study its territory in relation to the social environment and the economy, in its national and regional dimension. For this, the physical geography as well as the human geography of the country will be analyzed. Secondly, the current diversity of Spain through its natural regions and its Autonomous Communities will be explained; the road to democracy through the process of political transition; The Spanish Constitution and current institutions will be analyzed, as well as knowing the current Spanish society through some of its most representative aspects such as: population, economy or culture.
Methodology
Each session will consist of a presentation of the teacher as an introduction to the topic, then study it from maps, graphics or texts, which students will work in common and in an active way in the same classroom, clarifying and solving with the teacher the doubts about the material or subject under study. In this way, the fundamental objective is that the student can have the maximum possible number of information and, at the end of the course, can reach the initial objectives, that is, the greater and better understanding of the geographical, social and institutional reality of modern Spain.
