    ****Please Note: Students will participate in an “Adapted Methodology for English Students” subject, where the Face- to face lessons will be taught in “Spanish”, under the supervision of an English Speaker Teacher. The contents, teaching methodology and assessment system (all in English) will be adapted to the International English speaker students, and the teacher will provide individual or small group tutorial.

     

    General Objectives:

    The aim of this subject is to provide educational resources and skills to use of main hardware & software required in different jobs related with physical activity and sport (educational, management, research and sport training). During the semester we will introduce the theoretical fundamental of technologies used in the fields of physical activity and sports, but mainly, the student will be able to apply variety of applications, tools, methodologies and protocols related to different fields of Sport Sciences.

    Class Description:

    After a brief introduction of the basis principles of use of tech and informatics in different context related to the professional development of Sport Scientist, the student will use the main hardware and software tools used in different jobs related to sport sciences: teaching, sport management, scouting and sport training and introduction to research methods.

    - The Technology today. Relevance in Sport Sciences Development

    UNIT 2: Technologies used in Teaching.
    - Online Search Tools. Strengths and weakness.
    - Edition of text documents using APA / Vancouver standards.
    - Presentation of Audiovisual Contents (Powerpoint & Prezi)
    - Learning Platforms (Moodle)

    UNIT 3: Technologies used in Sport Sciences.
    - Databases (Ebsco) & Resources of Web of Science (WOS).
    - Bibliography
    - References Managers (Zotero & Mendeley)
    - Scientific Networks (Research Gate & Academia)

    UNIT 4: Technologies used in Sport´s data Management.
    - Spreadsheets (Excel)
    - Databases (Access)

    UNIT 5. New technologies applied to sports training.
