  • Overview

    COURSE OBJECTIVE
    Students are able to analyze morphological and semantical phenomena and to study the relevant literature independently. They are able to
    identify weaknesses and strengths of the analyses and to report on their findings in a clear and straightforward way.

    COURSE CONTENT
    Students learn the basic principles of morphology and semantics of natural language. They understand the problems and some of the most
    important suggested solutions. They learn about different semantic theories from different starting points.

    TEACHING METHODS
    There are three meetings of two hours each week. The meetings are interactive and active student participation is expected. Students give
    small presentations on specific topics and we will discuss assignments and questions on the content of the lectures in class.

    TYPE OF ASSESSMENT
    Assignments and presentations (50%), final exam (50%). To pass, both should be at least 5, with an minimum average of 5.5.
