    COURSE OBJECTIVE
    This course provides an introduction to hermeneutics for non-humanities students.

    COURSE CONTENT
    Hermeneutics is the theory of Interpretation and as such it is central to the discipline of history and the humanities. In this course we will discuss the history of hermeneutics and its relation to source-criticism. One outcome is that non-humanities students will be better equipped to do interdisciplinary work with humanities students and scholars, as for instance in digital humanities projects.

    Lectures and seminars.

    TYPE OF ASSESSMENT
    Participation in class (25%) and written exam (75%).
