    Art and Architecture of Colombian Caribbean is programmed to encourage the student to get in contact with the roots, ramifications and current issues of architecture, art and culture in our Caribbean region.

    Subject Description
    Art & architecture In the Caribbean Colombian Basin is programmed to encourage the student to get in contact with the roots, ramifications and current issues of art, architecture and culture in the Colombian Caribbean region.

    Justification
    Architecture, sculpture, painting, writing, photography, film making, music, dance, gastronomy and of course where all of them meet; the Carnival as one of the most important cultural expression.
    The student will be guided to explore, understand and experience the cultural web as a whole in their connections and how them nourish the environment and our roots to make of us, Caribbean?s.

    Knowledge areas to develop
    Institutional basic skills: Aesthetic. Social framework and individual comprehension. Communication skills. Social and ethnic thinking.
    Professional skills: Criteria to relate to Caribbean culture. Understanding the Caribbean region and its cultural expressions Appreciation of cultural weaknesses and strengths.

    General objective of the subject.
    The subject will be directed to: Explore from a cultural point of view the social environment around the Caribbean region. Analytical thinking on climate and geography in the formation of culture. Architectural styles from prehistory to our days under a historic perspective. People and art of the Caribbean throughout history.
