    DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE
In this course, the basics knowledge about alternative energy is offered, allowing students
to identify, quantify, and understand the transformation process of different forms of
    alternative energies.

    WHY
Due to growing demand for energy and the impending shortage of fossil resources, it is
necessary for engineers to learn and become familiar with renewable/alternative energy
    technologies.

    GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The student must understand the different forms of energy presented in nature, how they could be recovered, how they can be quantified, and determine the possibility of recovery.

    COURSE OUTCOME
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
    1. Understand how different forms of alternative energy are presented.
    2. Determine how they can be recovered according to the form they are presented.
    3. Quantify the amount of energy.
    4. Create models that allow them to determine the possibility for the energy to be recovered

    METHODOLOGY

    • Oral Lectures of theoretical principles of the different types of alternative energies
    • Oral presentation by the students of the assigned subject.
    • Written report presented by the students of the assigned subject.
    • Book consultation, internet and journals research, about proposed topics and presentation of synthetic review orally or in writing.
