    Course Description:
    The primary focus of this course will be intercultural organizational behavior. We will discuss the basic U.S. perspective on organizational behavior (the systematic study of actions and attitudes that people have within a business-oriented group) and contrast these concepts with an international point-of-view. Since the goals of O.B. are to explain, predict and control workers? behavior, we will investigate these concepts within a domestic and international setting. Part of our investigation will involve visits to various cultural, business, retail, and government sites in Valencia.

    Course Objectives:
    --To develop students? appreciation for the importance of the study of employees? behaviors and perceptions in the workplace.
    --To familiarize students with descriptions of ?organizational culture.?
    --To expose students to the foundations of group behavior and teamwork.
    --To develop students? understanding of fundamental motivation concepts
    and tactical leadership skills.
    --To introduce to students successful conflict resolution and effective negotiation
    strategies in a domestic and international setting.
    --To develop students? appreciation for and skills with intercultural organizational behavior concerns.

    Course Assignments:

    Exams - There will be 2 in-class exams. The exams will be a combination of multiple choice and true/false. The dates for the exams will be listed on the Course Outline. All make-up exams will be arranged at the discretion of the instructor. Success on the exams requires close reading of the text and other course materials.

    Group Presentation - Each student will be required to make one presentation. This speech will span for 10-15 minutes and on a topic selected by the students from an assigned list of topics.
