    The international business undergraduate course: "International management", looks to
    strengthen the student’s competences for the strategic management of international and
    global companies. The course integrates both theory and practice in order to support the
    students construct their knowledge through the permanent confrontation between them. This
    approach would help the students to develop decision-making competence for their
    professional performance.
    The course has the objective of providing the students with a general overview of international
    aspects that determine managerial development and behaviour in an international context (in
    MNCs), learn to assess the environment, understand value based management approach as
    well as communicating across cultures, human resource management and leadership.
    1. Global environment and cultural context
    To understand main aspects that determine managerial development in
    an international context (in MNCs), assessing the environment and
    understanding the role of culture, geo-politics, economics and
    environmental issues.
    Methodology: Analysis of current topics through presentations and
    class discussions. This will be complemented by the critical analysis of
    a case study.

    2. Ethic and social responsibility
    Codes of conduct.
    To identify all aspects related with managing social responsibility and
    ethics in an international context (in MNCs).

    Methodology: Analysis, class discussion, case study.

    3. The Organization of International Business
    The Global Manager’s role.
    To identify organizational architecture that international businesses use to
    manage and direct their global operations, assessing manager’s role.

    4. Global Human Resource Management
    The Globalization of Human Capital.
    To study implications of HRM when expanding from local to international
    markets, including staffing, training and compensation of international

    5. Motivating and Leading
    To study the impact of variables like societal, cultural, and political in the
    motivating and leading operations.
